The Hybrid Hub: The Continuing Trend Toward Partial/Full Insourcing

Are you ready for the role of general contractor? If you’re a patient services leader, you should be!

Over 75% of PSP leaders desire to retain or move to a hybrid/insourced model*; the goal being to enhance the quality of patient/provider interactions, as well as, the data sets which undergird program operations.

Many PSPs successfully employ the hybrid model by having patient-/provider-roles directly employed by the organization and by owning the CRM platform while having “behind the scenes” activities completed by vendors specializing in distinct PSP elements. In these instances vendor partnerships are limited to two or three.

However, some patient services leaders are leaning into “diversification” as a means to execute a hybrid model, identifying best-of-the-best partners to support key junctures (and/or critical nuances) across the access and adherence workflow. Stakeholder-facing staff continue to be employed directly and the CRM is manufacturer-owned but unique technologies and service offerings are also incorporated into the PSP through direct contracting. While the number of partnerships may increase in this approach, the PSP leader continues to remain at the helm of design and execution, serving in essence as a “general contractor.”

Join us for our TGaS Patient Services workshop to learn if a hybrid hub is in your future and how becoming a “general contractor” may be your next move.
